android/cyborg/robot

I scoured these three tags a few moments ago, and unless I missed something crucial, they seem in desperate need of some clean-up:

From what I saw, they were used in many cases to refer to the same thing (especially the last, which doesn't even have a description in the wiki). We should probably come to an official decision about which of these tags should be aliased and which should be kept separate.

They are three very distinct things.

Android: human-looking robot
Cyborg: human with robotic parts
Robot: any robot, tag should probably used for robots that do not look (fully) human

Cyborg can be tricky to tag, but I think there's a note in the wiki regarding "use android if you can't tell if the robotic parts are added on or not".

Yes, it does say that in the wiki. The problematic one, then, is robot, which seems to contain a lot of human-looking robots that should probably be tagged as androids or cyborgs.

Also, since the distinction between humans and cyborgs can be a blurry one in many cases, do you think it would be worth having an umbrella tag for the two?

I think that would cause too many problems. They look alike, but they're very different concepts. I just think we should keep cyborg to images where that's obviously the case, or when there's series information available to make the distinction.

As for robot, it definitely needs cleaned up. But there's the question of whether or not we should implicated android to robot as they are a type of robot.

Counter: KOS-MOS's canon anatomy (well, the one seen most, if things are different in EP3) is shown to be regularly non-biological, so if she's drawn as if she were, then wouldn't that be akin to genderswaps in the isn't-what-it's-supposed-to-be-anymore sense?
