Don't know if that alias is really needed or if there are differences between these two concepts, but it seems that transparent censoring is just another way to say "pointless".
I think the ideas are slightly different. "transparent" has to do strictly with the opacity of whatever censor is present, whereas "pointless" has to do with the amount of censorship basically being useless, due to size, placement, or other factors.
