I have asked around, and seems people prefer Iruru over Ilulu. I would personally leave it as Iruru and reverse the alias.
Do note that the manga fan-translation has been using Iruru for years, and i don't think it has changed.
I think the wiki just changed to the official spelling, ala Altria.

Common name, IMHO, should always be preferred over rigidly demanding a policy for full vs nicknames. I know y'all hate it when we bring up gachas, but Arknights is an entire copyright of nicknames being used instead of full names.

Arknights' case is more like codenames, so effectively 'superhero' aliases.

In the general case, a default "full name" policy leads to a more consistent naming system with less need for qualifiers (and less arguing about 'preferred' names). In some specific cases (including multiple names across a given copyright) this can sometimes lead to counterintuitive names that most people are not likely to use, so for those it may be a better idea to use a 'nickname' or some other alternative name that the fanbase is more familiar with. But these cases are the "exception that proves the rule" and should be examined individually on a case by case basis.

I agreed with the change to Lucoa because Quetzalcoatl is very rarely used, both by the fanbase and in-universe (by other characters), and because her full name also requires a qualifier. It's also more generic than Lucoa, for that matter.

(But something like Chiyo-chan instead of Mihama Chiyo is one that I would be ambivalent with, despite the nickname being more common among certain circles, both in and out of universe. Principally, because she is referred to by her full name sometimes, or without the -chan, and using just Chiyo-chan would also require us to use qualifiers.)

Though, as usual, Fate and Chinese gacha copyrights tend to make our tag nomenclature buckle over backwards. (which is the reason for the hate, IMHO)

In AK only a handful of the almost 200 characters even have known full names, and the ones that do are even harder to find than Genshin full names, not even being found within the character's profile.

That's just Common Name with extra steps. And is what led to the Barbara Pegg incident.

And look how long it took to convince people that full name wasn't better.
(Also, some of them give you their real name in their recruitment text but don't take that as support for tag change.)

I'm not sure what you're implying? We never used real names for any Arknights operator, it came up once to maybe use the handful of real names that are known to the fandom, but immediately shot down. The full name argument was entirely centered on Genshin.

The Genshin issue had its own basis, as none of the characters at the center of the argument use "nicknames", just their first names. We're not using different names for them, we're just excluding their surnames.

I'm not sure just one piece of merch is enough evidence. They can have inconsistent or incorrect spellings. Though admittedly the website that uses Ilulu isn't much evidence either because of the oddball spellings not used elsewhere mentioned by VR-Man. Ilulu has in any case been used consistently in official English releases for a while, though.
