I've been thinking lately that Inklings probably shouldn't get the domino_mask tag, as they really don't look like domino masks, but some kind of facial mark/paint. Same thing with the Octolings; not sure if they should get the mascara/eyeliner tags.
Also, since the push lately seems to be against tagging intrinsic characteristics of races/characters, I wonder if tentacle_hair, pointy_ears, and suction_cups should be tagged as well.
Yes. Yes. So much yes. Who's idea was it to have inklings tagged with domino_mask in the first place? I thought that was just the way their eyes were formed.
A bit less enthusiastic about the other changes. I feel like those would be fine to keep since for the most part, inklings do actually look like they have those traits. It just wouldn't feel right to completely ignore it.

Going with the easy target for now. This will need to be gardened though to save legitimate domino masks in a favorite group, so they can be restored after the purge. Once a favorite group is created, it can be added to the above BUR with something like the following line.
update favgroup:123456 -> domino_mask
Since it'll be DanbooruBot applying the latter change, it shouldn't create any new post versions except for the unlikely case that someone edits a post in-between the two passes, which will just be collateral damage.
Mask also needs to be removed, because domino mask implies mask and I don't think they're wearing an actual mask.
I don't think they're wearing mascara or eyeliner either. As far as I know, the black thing around their eyes isn't makeup, it's their natural skin or facepaint or something. I'm not sure that the people tagging this know what mascara or eyeliner even are.

It's a meme tag forced by related tags and by typical tags in the Inkling wiki. This is the problem with both of these things, they encourage taggers to blindly add tags that are low relevance at best and blatantly wrong at worst.

Seems like it was started by this line added in 2015: "They have tentacle hair, pointy ears, fangs, and a domino mask-like facial mark around their eyes." Which was "officialized" as a related tag a year later by BrokenEagle during a wiki rewrite.

Way ahead of you. I've already gone through 2/3rds of the posts and created favgroup #10431 (mask) and favgroup #10423 (domino mask). I added posts that I either knew had the tag or wasn't sure of, even if in some cases when there is an existing implication which would add the mask tag back on. Those can always be gone through later though.

Creating this one to be voted on as well since there was interest expressed in it. Like before, I'll create some favgroups to add legitimate tags back on.
To be honest, I'm not sure what a legitimate case of mascara looks like, since it's what is used to thicken/lengthen/blacken the eyelashes making them fuller-seeming. Looking through mascara -splatoon_(series), I see a lot of what could probably just be tagged with eyelashes.
