Proxy problems

Posted under General

My country blocks Danbooru, so I use a proxy browser extension. I have this problem, and I'm not sure if it's all the proxy's fault or if it's something specific to this site.

Images take some time to load, and that's understandable. However, once one starts loading, it will prevent or hinder most other interaction with the site, like upvoting and tag autocompletion.
Also, once it's started, it won't stop until the whole thing loads or times out, even if I close the tab or press the "stop loading page" button.

Is there any way to improve my situation?

Check your browser’s settings or the browser extension’s settings for limits of concurrent proxy connections and concurrent connections to the same host. Maybe the specific proxy you’re using only allows one connection per host. If one of the three has a hard limit to one connection per host, you’re out of luck.

Closing the tab or pressing the “stop loading page” button probably does nothing because the proxy finishes fetching the image in the background.

Do you already have the default image width set to 850px samples? That should get you around having to wait for huge original size images to load.
