Holding brush seems to have a very broad definition, maybe they should be more specific tags instead, such as holding calligraphy brush. Or make it an umbrella and make the specific tags imply it?

(+1) Brush itself is ambiguous. I would support the idea of splitting it into two clearer tags that describe what the character is holding. Why not making BUR for it? You can edit your post if agree with this. For the same reason we have holding magazine (magazine) and holding magazine. Thankfully we already have holding paintbrush.

I think holding paintbrush is fine as a counterpart to holding weapon, holding brush should be sorted out though.
Just realized paintbrush serves as an umbrella tag for art brush and calligraphy brush. Should we alias holding calligraphy brush to holding paintbrush? Tho I've always felt weird to call a calligraphy brush "paintbrush", art brush sound more like an umbrella tag.
