While a more technically correct tag name might be "The Cruel Angel's Thesis" nobody calls it that so I'm going to appeal to authority and say we should call it what wikipedia does

We use romanized Japanese names for Japanese things.

Unless English speakers, our primary userbase, almost exclusively know it by another name. I've never even heard hardcore weebs call it by its Japanese name. Literally everyone calls it A Cruel Angel's Thesis.

テーゼ is a loan word, the transliteration of "thesis", loan words should use their original language spelling. And if we were to use full romanization that's not how you read it anyway, it would've been "teeze".

The thing is, it's a loan word from German, which does indeed spell it "these". Notice how it sounds nothing like the English word.

Actually nevermind, it's stupid to have the japanese name when we have neon genesis evangelion as the english one. Even wikipedia uses the english title. This is one of those cases where the english name is so widely spread and used that to have the japanese one as main tag name would be extremely obtuse on our part.
