"Side release buckle" and "quick release buckle" are far more common terms than "Snap-fit buckle".
Here is proof: USA Search comparisons + UK Search Comparisons popularity of a Google search from 2004 to present. Notice that snap-fit buckle is such a miniscule search that it isn't visible.
I want to alias these terms to snap-fit buckle for accessibility, since I've wanted to tag such terms in the past but such tags never existed, and I had never heard of snap-fit buckle before. From what I understand, it's a generalized way of referring to buckles that clasp together with a click, which is great because it prevents tag misuse, but the term is very scarcely used day-to-day.
