Should yuri_(object)/yaoi_(object) be separate from or joint with yuri/yaoi?

The tags yuri (object) and yaoi (object) describe the big gay happening within objects in the picture, such as in books or pornography.
I think one of two things should be done about these tags: either they are considered a separate element from base yuri/yaoi (so for example, a pic that shows a character reading a yuri manga would be tagged yuri_(object) but not yuri) OR they are made to imply those bigger tags.

The first option would clear up results that some would consider irrelevant, such as tiny drawings in otherwise not-gay pics, including unusual tag combinations like yuri+male_focus or yaoi -multiple_boys.
The second option might be more appealing to more strict searchers. For example, someone who has yaoi blacklisted might not want to see any yaoi at all no matter how small.
Both options have their merits but I lean towards the first one.

I think the first one makes more sense. Sometimes it feels reasonable to add yuri/yaoi if the corresponding *_(object) is in enough focus, but other times it doesn't.

If it's just a book with 2 nondescript male silhouettes kissing, or a similar other small detail (post #7809731 comes to mind) then I don't think tagging it yaoi/yuri is particularly useful. However when it's more significant and/or rendered in more detail (say, post #7051267) then I would add those tags.

The first option sounds like the best one to me! Sure, there might be a character with a one or a bunch of BL/GL books in the artwork (such as a bookshelf, stack of books, selling doujinshi, etc) but if its not the primary focus of the image (or its just an object that says "BL/GL") then there really isn't any point in adding the yuri/yaoi tag. It should be right in your face for it to be considered as taggable.

I could've sworn I came across a better example recently but I can't find it, but post #6331563 will have to do for what I meant with "no rendered in much or any detail".

If a character is holding a book that clearly depicts two men kissing or fucking on the cover, it should be tagged yaoi (e.g. post #7696707, post #8186682, post #3486522).

If it just says "BL" then it should not (e.g. post #7808894, post #3788654).

Someone who blacklists yaoi would probably be rather annoyed to have the former show up in their searches.

Though I agree, if someone has yaoi blacklisted for that reason they should probably blacklist yaoi_(object) anyway.
