I really dislike the tag-autism that lead to photo (medium) applying to every single post taken by a camera regardless of context. IMO that tag should mostly be limited to things like cosplay photo and other cases where the fact that it's a photo is actually relevant to the post, or where there isn't much else to say regarding the medium. I can already find post #9100447 with unconventional media or clay (medium), and post #9013999 with latte art (medium). What use is photo (medium) in this context if the posts already have accurate *_(medium)
tags, and photo (medium) contains everything from sand art to claw figures to latte art to IRL cosplay.
I could see it having some value in cases like post #9068368, as a way to basically find "real art with some context surrounding it", but I think that's better served by a tag analogous to art tools in frame, but for non-art-tools (and it should be a gentag).
Compare that to post #8857171. If I hadn't intentionally left the metadata intact and just told you that I took that by pointing my camera at it, I could've easily convinced people that this is a scan instead. However, because I did do the former, suddenly it's a photo (medium)? I just don't see the point.
