So I noticed that the gyaruo tag has some posts depicting otoko no ko boys dressing as gyarus. However, I personally think that the gyaruo tag should only be for attractive douchebags that appear in most hentai doujinshis. I have two solutions to this problem:
Remove the gyaruo tag but keep the gyaru tag on these posts.
Create a new tag for these posts and make it imply gyaru.
I'm not too familiar with this tag but I thought gyaruo was just the male version of gyaru. otoko_no_ko are basically like flat-chested girls so if they look like female gyaru only that tag should apply but it shouldn't be given a special treatment.

Same.

It depends whether we want to define it as just the outfit or the outfit + gender of the wearer. A tag to indicate they're wearing the "wrong" one would work for that, no idea what to call it though.

You know they're only tagged as male because due to their ambiguous appearance, knowledge of the character decides their actual gender. They can be virtually identical to girls or flat-chested futanari in the nude. But that's beside the point. If gyaru/gyaruo function like topless_female/topless_male then I suppose gyaruo should apply but this doesn't seem to be the case since gyaru seems to involve makeup and feminine clothes and not just unisex traits like tanned skin and blonde hair. I see no reason not to treat it as a fashion tag.

It's confusing in IRL gal culture too, I've seen some guys who basically just wear normal gyaru (like post #9087003 or post #8878345) call themselves gyaruo, but it's also used for specifically the men's fashion associated with the broader subculture (more like post #8792843, post #8695089, post #8263703, etc), with some saying the former group would just be male gyaru (and that females wearing gyaruo fashion are female gyaruo). IMO I think it would make sense to make gyaruo specifically for gyaruo fashion styles, since you can always search gyaru otoko_no_ko or even gyaru male_focus to find male gyaru.
The wiki could use some updating. I think it's mainly based on its use as a hentai trope rather than the actual subculture, which is an issue with gyaru as well but not nearly as much (I've been trying to garden tags for the specific common gyaru styles, and I think more people are just aware of gyaru as a fashion style than gyaruo)

Speaking of which, the stereotypical hentai gyaruos are often depicted with black undercut below their blonde hair like post #5404604. I think that could be mentioned in the wiki too.
