This is one tokusatsu franchise without any of its entries linked to its main tag, on this site anyway. So I'm making a giant (pun intended) effort to imply most of the Gamera films to its parent tag. Trust me, I am doing you all a favor.

Any reason why Gamera (Rebirth) needs to exist separately from the two-tag search of gamera_-rebirth- gamera?

One could similarly ask this for some of the Godzilla chartags we have, but those were approved, so godgun here is likely just following precedent.

Go by that logic why don't we get rid of all the Godzilla attacks and just have them all existing one tag

Well, even if we did do that, we can't get rid of all of them since some of them aren't copyright exclusive, like Burning Godzilla.
