"Runa" ~ "Luna"

Posted under General

Many pictures by Aizawa Kotarou feature a character called Runa or Luna, sometimes tagged luna (like in post #68684) and sometimes untagged (like in post #346916). The artist himself consistently uses the romaji spelling Runa, such as in post #198826.

The character is rather easy to recognize, but sometimes I am in doubt, especially with post #71963. The artist could have just experimented with another similar design, after all.

Anyway, there is no point trying to properly tag this character as long as various Lunas (or Runas) have not been sorted out.

If "Runa" is currently unused by other characters, go ahead and use it for Aizawa's character.

One thing I am after here is whether somebody happens to know Aizawa's Runa ~ Luna to be a "borrowed" character from another copyright. With a good amount of luck, someone could even have read "Fleurir". I am just guessing this Runa is an original creation.

Thanks for your feedback, both of you. I am going to wait and see if this raises more discussion.

EDIT: runa is currently in use as an artist tag.

Usually, yeah. Although I'm not sure this time since the artist has a decent number of images, and is someone with actual commercial works done (being the Blacksmith illustrator). So I'd kinda rather keep the base tag with the artist in this case. Although, the guy has to have a real name... would be nice if we could figure that out.

Japanese Wikipedia doesn't seem to have mention of any usable full name... His site is named "R/L reclaimed land" or "R/L" for short, so luna_(r/l) or runa_(r/l) could be used. "waxing-moon" is another one being the URL on his site (and "waxing_moon" URL on Pixiv).

I guess my next step will be searching for info and people who might know more about these rather obscure Lunas and Runas.

I would not like to create new one-post tags without at least trying to find out about possible family names, misunderstandings, and the like.

My apologies in advance for mixing up appeal and tagging discussions.

I disliked the idea of creating a "runa_(aizawa_kotarou)" tag, so I wanted to find something like a copyright for this original character. It turned out she had starred in this doujin entitled "Fleurir". There was a single image available for reference material at http://akamurasaki.com/doujin/old.html .

The next step, I checked the uploading guide and the ToS twice, and there was nothing for or against lowres images there. So I uploaded the cover of "Fleurir" (post #576065) and thought it would be practical for reference material in this discussion.

Current situation: The pic is rated -1, still pending and due to be deleted soonish. Aside from possible size issues, I do not see it to be worse than, say, post #139014.

I'll live even if the "Fleurir" cover will not be approved, but I have two requests.

First, please take a look at the pic now that it is still behind one click, and tell me what you think about creating "Character: runa_(fleurir)".

Second, please consider adding some mention like "posting low resolution images is not prohibited but generally discouraged, regardless of overall quality" in howto:upload. The lowres thing seems to be a part of Danbooru lore, so why not make it official?
