Rename "mile" to "smile"

BUR #41743 has been rejected.

rename mile -> smile

I assume this is a spelling mistake as none of the post tagged with "mile" have anything to do with the measurement.

I'd manually move them and deprecate mile personally.

As above, I went through and manually removed it. I changed it to smile on a few posts, but most of them were already tagged with smile already and a few did not in fact have smiles in them at all.

Yeah, I removed some too. One in particular had misspelled mole with mile. The others were either mistags or misspellings of smile.

Asking just out of curiosity: Wouldn't the BUR have been quicker and more efficient than manual labour? Why reject it and opt for more work?

Doing that would have caused posts tagged with "mile" being tagged with smile instead, but not all posts depicted a smile. One actually depicted a mole, while several others had no smile, mole or anything similar to the spelling of "mile". Renaming it wouldn’t have solved the problem.

It wouldn't be more work. It would be the same amount of work because you still need to fix the ones that didn't have smiles in the post and the one that was actually misspelled mole. It would also be quicker because you don't need to wait for a admin to approve your BUR which can take over a month even if everyone 100% agrees with it. That's why BURs like these are generally a bad idea and it's better to just move things over manually. Just don't forget to double-check that your assumption on what the tag was supposed to be is right.
