I'm colorblind, how should I go about tagging certain things?

Posted under General

I'm colorblind, and really struggle with differentiating certain colors. How should I tag things like hair and eye color when I upload a post? I've just been looking at the related tags for a certain character, and picking out which color tags are used with them, but that's not gonna work all the time. Should I just leave those kinda tags out and hope someone else might add them? idrk

If you don't feel confident in tagging colors you're blind for on the fly you can either use a color picker, a map of colors & real names on a second screen/tab that reminds you what tag we use for whatever you can see, or you can just skip them or use a request tag like what the user above suggested, and I don't think someone will find you at fault for that as long as you tag the rest of the picture's details properly.

On the subject of a color picker:
If you are on a Windows machine, there is a great free color picker program that's part of the Microsoft Powertoys suite.

Microsoft.com: Color Picker utility

It works system-wide so you can pick a color from anywhere on your screen, has a zoom function for pixel perfect picking, and in the settings you can enable an option to show a readable color name while hovering.

And for the actual color picking itself, it has a picked color history, and shows the picked color in both HEX and RGB (among others)
