With the new promotion materials implying that the blue/purple parts on Skirk's limbs aren't gloves/thighhighs and they are made by Abyssal energy, that would make them prosthesis, right?
I'm planning to change them manually because before this some artworks depicted them as the clothing mentioned above, but should I wait until her release to finally confirm that they are indeed prosthesis limbs?
Doing that just floods the prosthesis tag with a character whose limbs look identical to wearing elbow gloves and thighhighs. Tags should reflect what is visible, regardless of what is actually known.
This tagging situation did leave me confused so the few new posts that I uploaded of the character I used just prosthesis (it's easier to remove or change the tagging accordingly) but all my posts were mass-gardened to match what OP wants without any further input (not like anyone else said anything here but that really shouldn't be taken as silent consent to changing the tagging).
Without any knowledge of the source material, I would have zero idea what they are. They look like gloves. The legs are a bit more debatable; with feet visible, they clearly look like one whole connected limb, but as a cowboy shot or so they just look like thighhighs.

They just looks like fancy anime thigh boots to me, though...? Anyway, I think these edits need to be undone, removing colored extremities from posts like post #9476642, or glove tags in post #6893604 for example is just silly.
If all it needs are "canon knowledge" to use those tags, then I will edit the wiki so uploaders should know what they should tag. Is that ok?
I waited 10 days and no one said anything. She's been released for 6 days and I thought you guys should know her limbs are prosthetic by now and start editing. Well I guess I was wrong huh?
I also agree that tags should should reflect what is visible, that why I didn't change some of them like post #9439581 as prosthetic leg.
For the record, I didn't do this for my own liking. I actually think I've provided some more information about the character through this. If it doesn't work, I'll change all posts back.

What? How did you arrive at that conclusion from what has been said earlier? Neither her arms or legs look like they're artificial limbs, so you shouldn't be tagging them as prosthesis at all. End of story.

I would be very hesitant to call something like post #9509249 "fancy anime thigh boots", same goes with places where it looks more like it merges with the leg rather than being on top of it like post #9315363. I would not call something like post #9404821 gloves. They may look like "fancy anime thigh boots" to you but there are some posts where it doesn't look like that to me, thus. Some cases are less obvious than others. We're going to see different things. Not that I'm advocating for keeping the current tagging process since as someone who no longer really plays the game, I won't remember and will tag it from what I'm seeing.
I think, as above, it should depend on the post and depiction.

I guess it's on me for not being specific enough, but I was referring to her official splash art, not fanart. I'm not sure why you're showing these examples as if I'm trying to argue that all her posts need to be changed to gloves or thigh boots now, when from the start I've been trying to say that Skirk's limbs need to be tagged accordingly based on how they appear in the individual post.

So you're telling me that even if artist depicted them as not real limbs and confirmed that in commentary (post #9502679), I shouldn't tag it as prosthesis because they look like "fancy anime thigh boots"?
I agree with above (also the reason why I changed them manually instead of requesting a BUR in the first place), it should depend on what the artwork depicted.

That's what I'm trying to do though? Unless what you mean I shouldn't tag them as prosthesis at all because they don't look like that to you? I provided the information with official source on the wiki that she made her limbs and that isn't enough? If it's not prosthesis and not gloves/thighhighs, what's your solution? Just purple hands?

None of the posts in skirk_(genshin_impact) prosthesis look like they belong in the prosthesis tag. They look like either colored skin or colored legwear/gloves. The fact that no one thought of tagging them as prosthetics before some lore drop happened should tell you something.
Looking at skirk_(genshin_impact) prosthesis basically every single post just looks like thighhighs/thigh boots and elbow gloves, and maybe the odd colored skin for something like post #9509249. post #9315363 looks more like skindentation (as do many, many, many other posts) and post #9404821 definitely just looks like gradient skin (you can compare it to post #9232731).
There will probably be posts showing a recognizable prosthesis in the future, but most of these aren't that (even the official arts), and it definitely should not be applied retroactively if most people up to now have been drawing them as thighhighs/thigh boots etc.

Well, yeah, in that case, I don't necessarily disagree either - I also said it should depend on the post. But you really should've clarified, otherwise it's not going to be clear to me what you're referring to. You were talking about "fancy anime thigh boots" and then suddenly jumped to talking about official art.
