Pendant tags

They are a mess. The main problem is mistagging where users somehow tag pendant on things that are integrated rather than hanging or attached or things that are attached to something that's not neckwear. There is also probably a redundancy issue.

• bracelet pendant: if we go by the whole "attached to neckwear" definition, this tag should probably be charm bracelet instead though the bracelet currently tagged bracelet_pendant doesn't seem very similar to the other charm bracelets.
• pendant earring: should be pendant earrings instead. Also, maybe the only legit pendant tag for non-neckwear?
• pendant watch: lots of mistags. People tagged this on normal pocket watch or when the watch is attached to things other than neckwear. I still think this should at least imply pocket watch.
• pendant removed: this seems to be just unworn necklace
• heart pendant, cross pendant, etc: these tags sound like they can overlap a lot with something like heart necklace, heart choker, or heart collar.
• gold pendant, red pendant, etc: Basically colored pendant tags, I don't think these are really necessary.

Charm bracelets traditionally have multiple charms, I wouldn't consider pendant bracelet to be the same concept, at least for tagging purposes.

Pendant earring seems like it would apply to way too many earrings posts.

Bad choice putting everything in a single thread. Each of these BURs deserves its own topic. They are all contentious. I'm going to reply to each of them separately.

The predecessor of the pocket watch that is virtually indistinguishable based on appearance alone (they often share size and may or may not have a cover/chain), so only use this tag if the watch is fastened around the neck in some way. Anything else is a pocket watch.

If they're indistinguishable then we should make watch around neck for cases where watches are worn around the neck, and alias these two together.

We have tens of thousands of potentially untagged posts that would fall under pendant choker or pendant collar. Just look at heart choker or neck bell.

Teardrop earrings is a kind of pendant earrings. Pendant earrings can be of any shape, for example, Ayase Momo earrings.

Does this mean that pendant tag is redundant since you can just use the appropriate shaped neckwear (or earrings) tags?

Well, there's also hoop earrings and I wouldn't call post #6287637 pendant earrings. Also, I was not aware stud earrings even exist.

It's not a matter of me or you seeing the distinction, it's a matter of every other user on the site not seeing it. I can guarantee you there's a few hundred results that look exactly like your example under heart necklace. And the inverse is true: heart pendant is filled with things like post #9547099.

I guess these tags are only useful if they are used in cases where they can't just be substituted with other neckwear/earrings tags, like post #2098240. Or post #8941968.

I still think BUR #42971 and BUR #42977 make sense though.
