Small ambiguous tag with a wiki that hasn't been edited since 2006 lmao.
Basically any of these would be used instead: sitting on lap, lap pillow, on lap, hands on lap, hand on lap, animal on lap, lying on lap, lap pillow invitation, patting lap...
I'm not sure what it's even being used for on recent posts like post #9897953 and post #9815723

Actually these look like the same thing and out of 265 posts in patting lap, 201 are already tagged with lap pillow invitation as well.

Lap pillow invitation is for inviting someone to rest their head. The patting lap tag includes someone patting their lap to invite someone to sit down on it like post #9488865 and post #6858574. (The other way around wouldn't work either because you can have a lap pillow invitation without patting lap. post #9434607)
