Please tag original on Pokemon OCs

It's established policy to tag copyright-based OCs as both the copyright and original, as stated on the wiki for original, but this seems to be a major recurring issue with this not being followed in regards to Pokemon OCs (mainly the creatures themselves and some personified OCs), so I just wanted to make a tiny PSA post.

I'm referring to Pokemon with specific differences from the default canon design (like Pokesonas and such).

Some examples:

Anyways that's it 👍 I'll probably garden later, there's a lot under pokemon alternate_shiny_pokemon -original and pokemon_(creature) commission -original.

Maybe add that to the pokemon wiki?

I guess I will, it seemed weird to do it for just one copyright but it's fine in this case I suppose since other copyrights don't have the same issue to the same extent.

What about it? The posts I linked as examples aren't fakemon in the first place, so I'm not sure how this is relevant lol

The Pokemon wiki buried all the tagging rules in help:pokemon tags and made them extremely long winded, virtually guaranteeing no one will read them even if they wanted to. I tried to summarize them once, but it got reverted and made even longer.

How do you know that Rockruff is an OC and not just a generic clothed pokemon?

That being said, yes, it's not being tagged on stuff like Pokemorph art when it should be.

Color is different, unique markings on the face, outfit is very distinct in a way I commonly see in these type of Pokemon OCs, sample watermark on Chinese platforms (I posted that one from Lofter) most often means commission. The artist draws a lot of Pokemon OCs as commissions.

You kind of get a feel for how Pokesonas tend to look after a while, if you see them often.

I just double checked and it's tagged 宝可梦oc at the source lol
