Danbooru

Changes

Posted under General

  • User messaging has been implemented. You can send messages from a user's profile.
  • The user profile page has been reworked to be more compact.
  • The comment listing has been restyled a little.
  • Artist notes are now tied to the wiki.
  • Notes have received some enhancements (including the ability to resize an image that has notes).
  • Danbooru is now running on two Mongrel clusters. Hopefully this should alleviate some of the blocking issues caused by a user doing something database-intensive.

It'd also be nice to have some sort of divider between posts on the comments listing. I know you can tell from the pics and tags in the outer columns but when I'm focused on the comments I find myself getting confused when I suddenly read comments from the next post without noticing.

New profiles look good. The only thing I miss is seeing how many of each type of tag we'd uploaded in the top 10 or so for each type. Though it wasn't 100% cumulative as far as I know (right?) so I guess it's not a huge loss.

Also, for people with a lot of invites, recent uploads and recent favorites get pushed down really far. Could hat field be in its own column that spans two rows, so it doesn't have to wrap so much?

Of course, this is mostly just a problem with your profile, Albert, since you have so many invites.

I like the new user profiles. I would try a slightly different arrangement, though: after the first block of data up to Record, I'd put the Favorites gallery, then the Similar Users..Favorite Copyrights block (which is based on favorites), then the Uploads gallery, then the Uploaded Tags.. Copyrights block.

Ah, and Favorites and Uploads need a link to show all favorites and all uploads by that user, respectively.

Oh, and an "Invited by" entry, maybe.

I think Albert's intent was to have that info block as a left sidebar (which is why it's so narrow), with the rest of the page on the right. However, it doesn't work unless you use a gigantic browser window.

I'm using all 1680 horizontal on my screen, do you mean even larger than that?

The link is now in the initial listing, such as "Posts 4521" for me, with the # being the link. Same for favorites.
