The only real difference is Jesus so an implication of crucifix to cross is possible, depends on if we want to make the distinction really.

There are some images of the crosses with the figure of Jesus on them, so I think it would be worthwhile to have still exist with an implication. I'd imagine there are probably a good number of crucifixes under cross that could be dug up.
Main reason I think it's worthwhile, is it's a unique style of cross and without some tag for it they'd probably be nearly impossible to find buried amongst all the crosses.
