What the hell is with all the people uploading things with no tags?

Seriously. What the hell.

The user Emveratacon uploaded lots of things the past day with just "tagme". He doesn't seem to have uploaded anything before, so maybe he's just unaware that it's bad practice not to tag your uploads. I went ahead and sent him a mail.

If i dont know the artist, copyright and character/s, and the pic has nothing worth to mention in the tags, its not like i can make up some random tags. But thats for me, I didnt notice many pic with just the "tagme" before

*never* upload something without tags, those pictures just get buried and lost and become a pointless waste of space. If you don't know the artist, copyright, and character, you can at least tag hair color, eye color, clothing, etc. Either a post has something in it that can be tagged or it shouldn't be uploaded. Of course add 'tagme' if you think it's a character that should have a name but you don't know it it, but 'tagme' alone does not a sufficient post make.

I remember having this discussion before, but: is there a way to search for images that only have 1 tag (or less than 3 or whatever)? If we could do that, we could have a good shot at finding images that just have "tagme" on them, and fixing them.

I sometimes (though rarely, in borderline cases only) don't approve images cause they weren't tagged. That lack of effort in an upload bothers me. In other cases I tag them myself before approving (but I remember who did it, I've given negative reports once or twice because of it, when it was consistent).

So yeah, upload with tags!

Not quite, that gives all the images that include the "tagme" tag, including stuff like post #221723. I mean searching for images that have just the "tagme" tag and nothing else. (Or let's say, images that have only a few tags like only the artist and the character, which could use some additional descriptive tags).

Oh, right. Yes, that would be useful. We've discussed it before, if I'm not mistaken.

We did, as well as the idea of searching for images that only have one character tag, for example. Say I want images of Haruhi, but only Haruhi solo, no other characters. Would be very, very useful though I don't know if it's something albert can implement.

As has said snesso, "maybe" Emveratacon didn't know the tags (or it has intentional to put more possible images).
I think that .member.s can edit these posts without any tags easily if they search on 'tagme' ^^" (imho)

A search for tagme returns any image with the tag. This includes both images with 1 tag and with 50 tags. This does not make them easy to locate.

Thats not the point.

No image should be uploaded untagged. Even if you don't know the characters, you should come up with AT LEAST two descriptive tags to put on it, more if at all possible.

At the very least you can almost always tag hair and eye color, and possibly clothing and positions.
