How does one become a moderator.

Just asking. How does a member become a moderator? I know someone must do something to earn that rank. But how?

I know I can't have a privileged account because I registered here on my own without being invited.

You can still be invited. In fact, you can't be invited before joining. The "invites" just upgrade your account to privileged.

As for becoming a mod, a while ago Albert held nominations and some of the nominees were appointed moderators afterwards.

How can I still be invited even after I've joined?

You HAVE to be registered in order to be invited. The invite is to go from regular to privileged member.

OK, so to be invited, I have to be already registered and have an activated account... but now, how do I get an invite? Do you know, piespy?

Upload high quality pictures, help with tagging, if you know japanese add translation notes, be helpful in the forums and comments. In short, contribute. Seems like you're on the right track already anyway.

Then, should I keep it up then. I've already have 79 or so uploaded images (10 deleted because they were left unapproved for three days) and about 400+ tag edits. I know I still have a lot to cover.

Just understand, there's no magic number of approved posts, tag edits, etc that will get you invited. There are no set rules for invites; it's purely moderator discretion. If a mod decides you deserve it, you're in.

I had a little under 100 approved posts when I got my invite, but that doesn't necessarily mean you will at that point. An invite could come sooner, or it could come later. Just keep making good contributions, and sooner or later it'll probably happen. I actually was caught completely by surprise by my invite coming as soon as it did.

I had 3 approved posts when I got my invite. Then again I was a member on the old danbooru before the crash, and c0rtana took pity on me :P Maybe my translation activity helped too. All my posts from way back when are listed as "uploaded by Anonymous" now, and all my old comments are anonymous too, haha... :(

Well, we all wait and getting an invite will be a matter of time (and patience). Well, I'll try to scour websites for better images and try to make good contributions for this forum as much as I can.
