Server status

I have an upgrade planned but Hivelocity have been slow in getting back to me. Until then, I've restricted access to the site to members only.

Does that include the forum? :) If not, I guess the target audience of this message won't benefit much...

EDIT: seems to work, never mind.

I am planning on upgrading the server this weekend, which will necessitate a reinstall. It will start this Saturday at 1 PM EST and may take a day or two to complete. For the curious, I am planning to add:

- 2GB extra RAM, up to 4GB
- 2 additional 160GB SATA hard drives
- RAID1 controller
- 30mbps unmetered line, up from 20mbps unmetered

Whew! I will be away for a few days with no net access so at least I wont miss much.

albert would have to get kicked off his current host, run out of money, have five hardware failures, and then get a new job taking up all his free time before danboofoo died as long as macrochan did :)

This is good patch. Patch will be reduce traffic on the server. good luck and hope for best.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but will the down time count towards the deletion timer for unapproved images?

And you run this site entirely off of ads? There's not even that many of them...

(I'm by no means suggesting you change it. I'm just shocked that the ads are able to buy that much. Hmmm... I wonder if maybe I could run my own website off of ads only... I guess I'd have to have a lot of traffic though.)
