And your nearly 100 approved images rather puts a lie to that statement, doesn't it?
No it doesn't actually considering I didn't post all these images within the last couple weeks. There is the appearing trend the perfectly fine posts aren't being approved because there simply isn't anyone doing.
...and with posts getting buried within a day you have a whole mess of content getting nuked.
Yes, when we click "moderate" we get a list of unapproved posts. I see the same 25-50 images at the bottom every day for 3 days since I do this about once a day.
Honestly, a lot of uploads from members just don't make the cut in my opinion. And when someone consistently uploads good stuff, they become privileged, so then there's another guy who doesn't need to get approved.
Also, I estimate that the privileged/admin/mods group just upload significantly more than members.

Right.
I mean, this person said they went back "25+ pages". Well so much is getting posted that 25 pages is only 20 hours. Since the most prolific posters already have invites and those without are restricted to 16 per 24 hours, this isn't terribly surprising.
But yes, I have been checking the mod queue a bit less, because I've been visiting Danbooru less due to the greatly reduced speeds lately. It's just rather tiresome to do things like the mod queue when each load can take awhile, depending on when you log on, so I've mostly been doing my daily uploads and that's usually it. When Albert works out whatever is causing it, I'll be modding more again.

I go for personal taste with some leniency. I also go through the mod queue at least once a day unless I'm very busy.

I think the speed has improved a bit on my side.
As an average member I can't say much, but I'll assume most of it is based on taste not to mention a few rules. As I was told before, fetish stuff isn't generally acknowledged, though I'm not sure if mods, admins, etc are "allowed" to post such things anyway (there's enough of it present on site).
I've had my share of approved and unapproved images so it's really about getting the feel for what is generally accepted.

Yeah, and it's kinda sad that pretty good images just vanish after 3 days.
Agreed. I seem to be having the same frustrations. I want to know what justifies a bad image from a good one in the moderator's eyes. I feel that personal opinion isn't fair, especially if the image is well-drawn. Ah well.

..this actually brings up a better questions. Are people approving on personal taste, or what is the generally accepted rules?
Personal taste, it seems. There are some terrible images up on Danbooru; some that are just so hideously drawn (not content matter) or generic. Is it because there are a good deal of privileged users uploading whatever they want? How come the mod's don't filter through it and delete what is poor art?
Because privileged members are "trusted" in some sense. This site has suffered greatly from huge influxes of retards posting horrible shit in the past (even to the point of having to shut down for a while), and this "privileged" system is an attempt to retain some of the "security" that the site had during the several months when it was totally invite-only.
The moderators only approve what suits their taste, but they trust privileged members to have good taste of their own. So a privileged member can often get away with uploading something that would have been unapproved if a normal member had uploaded it.
Danbooru wasn't always so selective about uploads. We didn't always have a distinction between "regular" and "privileged" users, and there was a time when uploading pics was pretty much an anything goes affair. A lot of images from that time are still around that would've been unapproved if they were uploaded now.

Seems fair enough, although it would be better if there were a more concise guideline of what was wanted on this site. I understand that 'opinion', or 'taste' for everyone is different.
What of those who desire to add tags of completely new artists to Danbooru? For example, I've added a few artists to this site that had not even been posted. My question is, what is the worth of doing so, if only half of a specific number of posts are approved, and the others are left to sizzle out? (Most of the pictures are from art books I own, and enjoy highly.)
Its very frustrating lot -- and almost futile. I don't mean to complain, because truly, I've been browsing this site for at least a year now, and love it to bits.
