Question regarding moderation / deletion / resubmittal

Posted under General

In general, the rules regarding uploading posts are a bit scant (either that or I fail at finding them in Help). I've been trying to contribute by uploading posts now that I know that we can upload anything we run into, not just works we have done ourselves (silly-sounding, I know, but again, there's not much documentation out there). In particular, I noticed that in the Lum posts, there were some works by the artist, Akira, so I wanted to upload some Ranma 1/2 pieces that he had done. Out of the five uploads I've done, all were deleted for lack of moderator approval. I understand that this means they were either not worthy or the moderators just didn't have the time to get to them (and let me note that I appreciate the difficulties you face in the sheer number of incoming posts). My question is, should I resubmit them later, assuming that it may have been the latter case of too many posts and not enough moderator time, or should I assume that they're just not for this site? I apologize if this has been asked before. I read through what Help I could find and I went back a good five pages in the forum to see if others had asked this very question, but to no avail.

To add context, the following were the posts. Of course, no picture on them right now, but I think the Source tag should still work. If not, I'll clarify.

(The last one is not by Akira, and in fact may not be Tendo Nabiki as noted in the comments)

Actually, the unspoken rule is that you shouldnt upload your own work, so...

Probably those were old posts, submitted when there was no moderation queues, so you shouldnt pay much attention abouth whats been uploaded 1-2 years ago.

You can't post again those pictures, cause (not sure how it works) the servers still have the informations about the pic, so it counts like the pic already exists, and you cant upload it again. Looking at the pics, they arent that good, maybe the last one could have been approved I guess.

I noticed that they had the MD5 hash for it and I figured that's how they scan for duplicates (which has the unfortunate side effect that it only checks for /exact/ duplicates, but it reduces false matches). I just wasn't certain if there was a difference between "moderator deleted" and "automated system deleted", which it would seem there is not.

As for the pictures... *shrug* I will bow to common consent on them. It's definitely an odd style and I'll freely admit that I don't entirely agree with the subject matter of some of them, but it seemed less bad and more stylized. And, since there were other pictures from him, I was uploading these. Honestly, the only ones I've found by him were Lum and Ranma 1/2 and I've been idly curious for some time whether there are more. But with just "akira" to search on in terms of artist name, it's not exactly easy to try to find if he'd done anything else.

Eh, ultimately, I was kind of fishing around to see if there was any place where the system was defined. I didn't even know about the "deletion if not approved in three days" rule until it happened.

On the topic of automatic deletion, I'll just point out that I've had a few pictures automatically deleted in the last couple of days. It's a waste of a valuable upload slot when a picture gets deleted, and as best as I can tell, the pictures met the critera for danbooru.

So I'd like to ask two things: (1) Can moderators view deleted images? (2) If so, could a moderator be kind enough to take a look at my recently deleted pictures and tell me which critera they failed, so that I can pay more attention to that in the future?

Thanks.
