Almost all the comments expressing sexual approvement of certain sexual pictures, get downvoted and therefore, hidden.
Is it really that wrong to say 'I really appreciate this portrayal of female body's attractive physical feature', albeit in rather crude choice of words?
Even on pictures that are bloody well sexually explicit?
I get very often disturbed by seeing what seems to me as an abuse of 'downvoting' function here on danbooru.
At "the other booru", such comments get hails of 'thumbs up', in contrast. Im not saying that is a better attitude than what can be observed here on danbooru, but the contrast tells a lot.

Yes?

Oh come on, "disturbed"?
You know you can change your comment threshold, right? If it's at 0, all it takes is one person downvoting a comment for it to be hidden for you.

What that contrast says is simply that Danbooru has better users.
Anyway, you might want to carefully read howto:comment if you haven't already.

No they don't.

There is your problem.
Basically comments should all have some value and not be one liners.
It doesn't happen that way all the time but that sort of stuff will get down voted a lot.
Even on pictures that are bloody well sexually explicit?
Yes

The only "abuse" comes when people downvote legitimately useful/good comments because they might say something negative about a character they like or such.
At "the other booru", such comments get hails of 'thumbs up', in contrast.
They also have no translators, make no attempt to help Japanese artists understand the nature of a booru and a set the bar a whole lot lower (in all respects) then here.
Im not saying that is a better attitude than what can be observed here on danbooru, but the contrast tells a lot.
It does say a great deal since Danbooru is the only respected booru out there.
There's really no such thing as abuse of downvoting as almost all of the comments on here are worthless.

If you mean Gelbooru then you're right. As someone that had to mod those comments I can tell you it means that we let people get away with alot of stupid bullshit over there. Also the comments over there being harder to manage was a factor.
