I hate Americans who talk Japanese because they want to. No one learns Japanese because they have a reason. In America, it's smart and useful to learn Spanish, French, sometimes German. In my life, I've never needed to know Japanese for anything.

Well, considering the influence of Japan in America and vise-versa, for some it could be a useful, if not Necessary, job skill. And some just do it because of their love of the Culture, and those, are Otaku.
    :D

American and Britannic histories are full of crimes and bloodshed as well. Your history is so fucked up as Japanese history or any other history in this world.

Guy, I think you should chill the hell out. Okay, so you have a point: most of the people who use those words only know them from watching anime. But you know what? They're learning another language because they want to, and because it's enjoyable to them. I don't think cartoons from Spain, Rance, and Germany are doing as well over here. And with the wait of many years for some shows to be licensed and translated, it's no surprise that kids will wind up learning a few words while watching the subbed Japanese version.

Me, personally? I'm an otaku(which pretty much just means "fan"). I grew up learning about ancient Greece and Rome and the Western world in general. The East- and Japan, in particular- has always been a point of interest for me. I haven't hit twenty-five yet, and though I've been trying to learn Japanese on and off since elementary school- other languages, including Spanish, French and German got in the way- there are kids out there who've been into anime for just a few years and have learned more than I have.

There's just as much backstabbing and bloodhshed here in the US... and in Kenshin, as a matter of fact. Finally, considering how mainstream and popular anime is, and how it's becoming commonplace for Japanese words to become part of our youths' vernacular, it seems to me like you're the outdated one. Get with the times, old man. English itself is built on a dozen other languages, and its growth is largely influenced by things just like what you're bitching about.

Watashi wa hitori ja nai. Other people think the same thing, too. Grow up and get over yourself. If you don't like it, remove yourself from it. Or change it. Otherwise, shut the hell up. You're annoying me.

But all the popular anime that all the little fucks who bakakawaiinopanlogihentainoryu~n...watch all are fully translated. And don't get my wrong. Believe me, I enjoy a lot of foreign movies. I never say various words in french, or greek, or japanese or anything. Jesus fuck. It's pointless to go out of your way to say these things that normal japanese people don't say in an attempt to be more like a japanese person.

And what's wrong with some people just mentioning a few words they know in Japanese? Besides not every word in Japanese is literally translated to English. Some things are left in the other language either for: convenience,a meaning that does not have the same word in English, or just because that if you literally translate everything, it turns up weird.
I don't find it odd if people just say a random word in Japanese or any other language every once in a while but dude you get way too frustrated too easily. Just let it be and don't criticize people just because they don't think the way you do.
