Seriously, if you "need courage to stand up" to something as heinous and insidious as a popular Saturday morning television show, then you need to rethink how serious you're taking your "hate". Especially when said TV show is mostly confined to the internet.

Granted, I don't particularly care for the MLPFIM myself (though I don't think it's a bad show by any means) outside of some fanart of it, the extent some people take their "hate" of it (many of which probably never even seen the show itself), is just ridiculous.

Furry hate and stuff aside, I'm just glad to hear there's a new Mechwarrior game coming. I didn't know that, but I absolutely loved all the other ones I played. MechCommander too. I wish the old cartoon got another season:( That was a fantastic finale with a great twist ending.

Replace the furries and bronies with Touhou characters and suddenly this would all be comments of rage, underrating people supporting and the image would have a deep negative vote. Even when touhou has proven to be a bigger "plague".

While i enjoy quite a lot of touhou i just love the double standards of people.

Touhou is a totally different plague. It's now nice and self contained and a better plague in my opinion. And far more human.

Also, I've seen the "Bronies" on deviantart and other places. They're out of control. After what I've seen, I've gathered a small idea on why the rest of the internet as a whole hate it as much as Twilight and Justin Beaver.

Well. Somebody has issues. The quality of this attests to a LOT of time and effort devoted to nothing more than petty hatred of things people watch in their spare time.

Time and effort that would be more efficiently devoted to petty hatred of things people do and believe in, like politics or certain religions.

If you have gone outside of this place ever you would see the spam they make. They are not under control.

The guy is a professional artist for Battletech. This stuff is part of his job. He just put a bit of his personal beliefs in his art is all. And that belief is the belief that ponies and bronies are the horseshit that's shitting up the internet.

Yes, I do not go to /jp/, but I've heard that it was basically and specifically made for Touhou. /jp/ being related stuff from Japan, Touhou rightly belongs there.

And your right, I was in self-denial. There's a number of Touhou crossovers with that series. I don't know why, but it disturbs me greatly. I don't like to think about it.

But then again, there's a ton of crossovers with Touhou, and the series mentioned is just another one on the list of crossovers. Nothing special that it'll have an effect.

Actually /jp/ its for anything of japan. But there is a video game board and anime board. Even more, most of /jp/ go for visual novels.

So touhou technically should be on /v/ but it got rejected hardcore so there is only a few threads there once in a while. /jp/ is a spam of that, you can go and find 3 "chen threads" in the first page if you are unlucky.

There are a few communities that are good but thats why you dont notice them.
I like touhou but fans can be obnoxious spammers.
I enjoy the MLP show and yet the bronies make me want to murder people.
I dislike moeblob and the fans of the genre a year or 2 ago spammed everywhere.

You have no idea how little ammount of communities are super shitty. Even more many of the hated communities are secluded nowdays... yet people still bash on them.

I do enjoy the touhou fandom, and if pressed I might offer a comment to its positive qualities. But, I feel more than anything, that I have arrived at a special, zen-like state for everything that I like and everything that I don't: it's that I don't really care. It's crazy, truly. It may a combination of Yahtzee croshaw, and similarly styled forums bashing things that I liked, that finally made me realize that people like what they like, and little more.

So it's really not so bad, these people pouring out hate if they want. I just hope that someday, everyone will find the enlightenment that I now enjoy.

No, the double standard is that i have done the test of finding the same image basically with different crossovers and people react differently based on what they like.

You are not forced to like it, but if you meet a touhou/pony crossover and you get mad at it, thats your fault. Thats you failing, your logic failing.
If you dont like it, you ignore it, you dont go for it. If you get across it you ignore it.
No one is throwing it at your face or forcing you, so there is no reason to have a bad reaction to it.

I guess some drama is to be expected when something like this is posted, but it'd be nice if people stopped ranting pointlessly for a change.

Well, I'd say feeling bad, uncomfortable, or even outright disgusted at something, or rather anything, that's okay enough. Expressing negative reactions, still fine. It may even serve as criticism. (I hate it when people say "if you don't like it, keep it to yourself.") But when it escalates to any form of written violence, especially containing profanity, then we've got problems. Why, there's a saying in my country's internet. "Excessive fans birth haters."

I think that if any fandom can call out Friendship is Magic for having an obsessive, annoying fanbase, touhou is not that fandom.

Too true. In fact, it happens to many things. People tend to hate stuff not just because they're bad but because of the fans. I've known it happen to pop stars, and even between something like the Touhou canon and fanon.

But considering the nature of media today, check out South Park. I doubt any of the writers really would do any of the stuff shown there, or think that way or whatever, but it makes the point in an over-the-top way.

South Park is a "what not to do" show, though. As I once read in a review, "if you find yourself agreeing with any opinion presented in South Park, review your opinions thoroughly".

Whereas the artist of this, as far as I know, does not have such a reputation.

What "justification" is needed to express your personal views through art? Lots of images on danbooru depict brutality either as comedy or for shock value (this picture is some of both) and don't get nearly as much flak.

Oh, it is incredibly well made.

But there is a difference between depicting brutality to characters, which is annoying as hell and petty but not truly offensive to reasonable people, and depicting brutality to the fans.
Especially when the fans are made to be as implausibly grotesque as possible to add insult to injury.

Well duh, that's been happening daily since the internet made knowledge of the existence of dress-up-bestiality widespread (if this is right or not, I can't say, because while it disgusts me thoroughly, I don't like to use words like hate for things like this).

I'm still not sure what that has to do with My Little Pony, though; there isn't anything sexual in the show OR the parts of the fandom I've seen.

I'm a fan of those watching those small technicolor horses and all, but seeing all the hate and ass-pain that's generated towards them if far and away more amusing.

Much of the fanbase is given a bad name because of how many pandering neck-bearded social rejects who squee like little girls at the thought of pony there are saturating the fandom. They're often the loudest, so naturally they're heard the most. There are quite a lot of people who take the show for what is, decide to enjoy it, and not be giant aspies in the process.

Shit like this really just makes me laugh, because people on both sides of the fence get so serious and butthurt over what should be nothing.
