First rule in Anime. Recoil does not exist.

Second Rule in Anime. Weight is only a number.

Third Rule in Anime. One and Two together make it only more badass.

But but, revolvers are always side arms. Even if you're using a silly magnum cartridge one. The biggest revolvers are still only equal to a .308 rifle. Rifles are always better!!

Well, revolvers have worse recoil because of their ergonomics and lighter weight and shorter barrel...

Rifles are also MUCH more difficult to manouver in tight places, slower to bring into action and, in restricted spaces or short ranges, quite inferior to a handgun when it comes to effectiveness. That said, a semi auto pistol will trump a revolver any day. Revolvers, especially the silly, over the top monster big kinds are as obsolete as their forerunner, the pepperbox.

true... the power revolver may look cool, but how practical is it? sure it matters it can load the biggest punch you could possibly put into a small bullet but is all that power worth it?

    also...
SMG - your fully automatic buddy in very tight places
shotgun - its devastating in tight places but has the near-length of the average assault rifle

This guy is definitely not human, or his strength has been amplified greatly, so who is to say the things he's going to shoot at are human? I think having BFGs are practical.

The revolver's only real advantage is that its (relative) mechanical simplicity makes maintenance easier and required less often. That and rounds that fail to fire don't jam the weapon, it just cycles to a new one. Even then, many modern semi-auto pistols are reliable enough for this to be irrelevant.

Still, there's something to be said for the aesthetics of a wheelgun.
