    Symbolism?

Considering that the original Izanagi is supposedly the father of gods and, together with Izanami, his wife and sister, apparently created the land of Japan and is now being controlled and led by a sophomore from highschool... this might be that. But I guess there might be more symbolism to it all than that, seeing as how Izanami turned aggressive towards Izanagi and, from hell, promised to kill 1,000 people every day, to which Izanagi replied that he shall give life to 10,000 in return. This is similar to the stubbornness of the Protagonist towards Izanami's choice of the future of humans.

Actually, there are a whole lot of parallels between Protagonist and Izanami in the game, and the original folklore, like how when Izanagi first entered Yomi, the "hell", to get Izanami out of there and he couldn't clearly see her at first due to the fog there. That's like the first dream and battle that the Protagonist had when he fought someone that he couldn't quite make out due to all the fog (that person then later turned out to be Izanami.)

And all the other symbolism in the game, like how the Protagonist has claimed a legitimate title of representing the good in human kind by bonding with people and all that, thus also preserving to save the lives of people, which relates to Izanagi's promise in a twisted way, man alive, it's enough to make your brain melt! But that's what I love about the game (and the series, including all of Shin Megami Tensei, even if I only slightly deviated from the Persona-series.)

    This became a long post!
