Ah man, how times fly when you're having fun... Great memories playing Red - Black Version.

And some of us played all versions from the very beginning... Who else feels old? ;-)

By the way, I changed the charas in the game versions. Ruby and Black are pokemon special names.

Ah the classic Gameboy. They just don't make them like they used to.

They can't; their reserves of indestructible Nintendium have been running low for years now.

"In MY day, there were only a hundred and fifty pokemon, a hundred and fifty one counting Mew! And we were SATISFIED with it, dammit, not like you damn kids and your thousands of critters, and when we needed to trade, we needed another cartridge present and a cable between systems! But did we complain about it? NO! And the games only cost thirty dollars apiece! And we had to walk thirty miles to school, uphill both ways, because there was a DEPRESSION going on..."

Back in the day even 151 seemed like a lot, and I was pretty impartial to the idea of there being more. But it's hard to believe it's been that long since the days of RGB, thinking of those afternoons in the clubhouse in my yard trading Pokemon and duking it out just bring back those old memories. Doubt some of the kids playing nowadays know what a link cable or the original Game Boys are.

We have a Pokemon Blue cartridge at home, but it was wrecked early and wouldn't play anymore. My 10 year old GBC still works though, and I have a Pokemon Crystal cartridge, so I more or less really started in the 2nd generation. Even now I bring it to school to show my friends as I beat Red with my team of Arcanine, Meganium, Ampharos, Ninetales, Skarmory and Dragonite (or a team along those lines).

Those were some great games, unfortunately back then I used to play it the n00b way - rampage through the game with the starter.

Level 60-something female Typhlosion (named Flo, of course. Was lucky enough to get a female on my first start) with Fire Blast and Rollout was all I ever needed. The most exciting part of the Elite Four was seeing if I could down 5 of Lance's dragons in a row with one Rollout.
Then, I started breeding a whole team of them. And the battery in my cartridge ran out. I wept.
