I don't remember well, but I remeber an official literature of Touhou, which said that Youkai are physically stronger than humans, but are very fragile mentally. So they are rather weak to traumas or deceptions compared to humans.

That's the reason why Eirin's pleasant dream drug is so popular with youkai. Because they're fragile, psychologically speaking, their nightmares are far more vivid and actually damaging. For a human it's just a pleasant little pill that doesn't really do all that much, but to a youkai it's actual medicine for curing a somewhat threatening malady.

Yeah but Alice is usually the one buying it. The drug itself is unpopular, mainly because it's advertised in Bunbunmaru.

Alice considers herself a Youkai, at least in IN.

There's no contradiction. As a magician youkai, Alice is a youkai, and as a youkai, she's one of those who buys Eirin's anti-nightmare drug the most.

Eirin confirms that youkai, as spirits, have more to fear from mental problems than physical ones.

(Unrelated: Aya also mentions that she "grew wings" to fly, or at least fly faster. So she really does have wings.)
