Strangely enough, I found this particular Fate/Zero episode hilarious. It wasn't just Kiritsugu's ridiculous looking breakdown either. Just the sheer absurdity of the situation. He shoots down the plane his surrogate mother is in because she's apparently too selfish to crash the plane into the sea herself or risk an admittedly damn near impossible sea-landing. The situation was just so contrived. Kiritsugu is able to get ahead of her and commandeer a boat and rocket launcher to blow up the plane, but he can't get to the airport to hypnotize officials into keeping people away so he and Natalia can kill all of the ghouls after she lands the plane safely? Its like everyone's brains stopped functioning in order to bring about that particular tragedy (then again, that seems to be a running theme of Fate/Zero; tragedy brought about by people not using their brains or even their common sense).
He is saying Kiritsugu actually had a choice and is stupid that he went right to the blow-up-plane plan, before even trying another thing.
But don't blame Kiritsugu, instead blame the writer that really made an effort to make everything ultra-dramatic, to the point every once in a while, does not make sense.
