According to the artist's commentary, this is a parody of Downtown no Gaki no Tsukai ya Arahende!!: 'No Laughing Series'. In the segments, Gekidan Hitori was always slapped as unreasonable punishments for being late.

He gets slapped cos he's being nice (like he had to take care of his ill sister, or mom was hospitalized,...) but his "boss" didn't believe him, and slapped him thinking he was lying. (Other guys saying stuffs like "I had to buy a game", "I overslept" were spared)
