Survival of the carry (specially if on a streak), is high priority when playing support, so if you can jump in and take the lethal bullet for them, you take it. Cruel, but needed. Unfortunately 9 out of 10 carries will call you noob and request you get reported for feeding, possibly while trashtalking the enemy team about how they couldn't kill them 3 vs 1.
Support is not a job for everyone, that's for sure.

I think support is one of underappreciated role. Warding with prediction, setting up kills, helping escape and predicting enemy actions to know when to shield are hard.
Unfortunately, supporters are blamed for loss alonng withthe jungle most of the time.

also, i like how Eld implied that Zilean and Karma are more supports theN Leona, who's passive is set up to make her a support because she herself cannot trigger it.
Zil is more of a mid, because he's better with farm and blue, and Karama is the new eve, the champ that you pick in tournies to mean a different champ that you do not own, because she is worthless

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but if Cait's ult is giving off a bright white light, I'm not sure there's anything that can save poor Kog.
I was referring to the difference between the role a character was intentionally built for and the roles they can fill. It's almost the difference between the core game and the meta. Leona can provide great support with her CC and extra damage, but her skills aren't intentionally geared toward making her a support. Karma's not great, true, but her skills are all built around the idea of providing support. That's actually part of the reason she's not great. Her skills don't do a good enough job at what they're geared for, and they don't provide many other strong options.
Either way, I think we can agree Lulu's sacrifice will never be forgotten.
It's light-based as well and does less damage the more targets it passes through, and despite what some might say, Ez's ult can hurt like fuck if he's fed and built well.
A last minute Ult and shield on Kog'maw would give him enough health to not only survive the onslaught, but also to potentially get away.
