    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 638

This place was so deep in the mountains, I had to wonder if we weren't in Mayohiga.
The soba eaten with water was faintly sweet and extremely delectable. I tried eating it in ordinary broth as a test, but the soba's flavor vanished in an instant, and I felt that it just wouldn't do if it wasn't in water.
By the way, the fried freshwater fish they brought out with it was my favorite. It was off-the-chain good.
The place isn't that easy to reach, however. (^^;) I wonder how the Yuyu-sama person and Ran-shama person know about it.
I thought I'd make it the usual food terrorism this time, but I've done that too often, making it annoying, so I gave that up. :-)

Ran's faces always make me laugh. She is indeed a Tactician.

Ran's face in the last panel is just priceless. Just-as-planned face FTW!

I have to wonder where Ran places "Hitoshi's minimum acceptable weight", and where Sanae places "Hitoshi's maximum acceptable weight", and if they've ever tried to reconcile the two.

I'm thinking about Ran's like those witches that fatten people up so she can eat them (like Hansel & Gretel)

Reader-added tags include "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap", "Klutzy elder sister employee" and "You tricked me, didn't you, Ran-sama!?"

More soba choices in the survey:

What soba dish should we have?
    • Zaru-soba
    • Kitsune-soba
    • Tempura soba
    • Tororo soba
    • Kamo-nanban

Zaru-soba (sieve soba) is served on a bamboo draining basket with dipping sauce. Kitsune-soba is served in hot broth with slices of fried tofu (the spirit-fox's treat!). Tororo is grated yam, explained here. Kamo-nanban (southern barbarian-style duck) is noodles made with duck meat and spring onions.

    ...dang, now I'm hungry.

    Kamo-nanban sounds good right now.

They really are trying to fatten you up, aren't they Kogasa-san? Just when you thought it was safe to eat, the Calorie loaded food appears. Well, no use in arguing against eating at this point, right? Enjoy the meal, Kogasa-san!

For the poll, Kamo-nanban sounds really good. I could go for a good duck dish right about now.

    Answer: It's really a AC/DC reference.

Although, I doubt seriously there was anything cheap involved here.

Amusingly, Skynight is more correct; the Pixiv tag, which is the Japanese translation of the phrase, primarily refers directly to Funny Valentine's stand, and thus only indirectly to the AC/DC song from which its name derives. (Its second definition in Pixipedia is that it refers to actual dirty deeds done dirt cheap...)

Forget Kogasauthor's weight. Imagine how much dieting Sanae will have to do after this as collateral!

Hence my confusion as to what about this suggests manipulation of space and/or causality. (Causality...? Now I'm thinking of Dragon's Dream...)

Yeah, I'm with you then. Not that I could make much sense out of the song applying here either.

It just refers to duping Kogasa into eating more, I imagine.

Do you know about mizu-soba, Kogasa-san?
    Soba made of water?
    Two Hours Later
Is this one of Kaguya-san's impossible tasks?
Wouldn't you like to try some?
There's no way you can get it in Tokyo, you see?
It's a soba eaten with water rather than sauce.
    Drool...
They can't make it there because the water's not good enough.
    Mizu-soba, eh...?
    Here's your A Set. Thanks for waiting!♡
    W-...well, soba should be healthy...
We can try a little, huh, Sanae...?
    If it's just soba...
You can have as many helpings of soba as you want!♡
What a huge variety of stuff!!
Wonder if I can finish it off...
    There are 12 items!♥
    There's tempura and kara'age...
    The calories...
