Bad quality? Whaat?

Saving this before it gets deleted for no reason...

It just looks like this guy is targeting one user's uploads with (typically arbitrary) flags.

If the mods have any sense, this'll be reapproved.

I've looked at this for a while and I just can't see where it's supposed to be bad quality.

To be fair, while it's not bad quality, it's not really good quality either.

This feels more bandwagon against flags and the Janitor rather than a logical argument/counter argument.
The art itself, the drawing, and overall the entire image is pretty poor overall, and if it wasn't touhou, I wonder if it would have been approved.

The background is just a red block with degrade circles and lines to remove color form it. The character is made of a few lines and painting inside.

While a bit stilish, it lacks detail, shows lack of time put into it.
Overall it just feels lacking and lazy.

Yes, you can make an art style of this kind of thing, but if that's what you are going to do, you can do something far better.
Danbooru is supposed to have a somewhat standard of quality, not just upload 90% of pixiv stuff. It should be the top 10%.

While some of his flags are a bit overdoing it, I will at least support on the flag towards this one.

The best part, is that people downrate this reply explaining why the image got flagged and what's wrong with it.
But they either lack a counter argument or discard this one because it goes against them instead of bothering.
So in the end, you don't want to bother saying what's good about this image.

If you want this image to stay, then you can make a better sounding argument to why it should stay, what's good about it, why it's not bad quality.

Greetings, I don't mind downrates. Personally I do not feel this image is good, and while many flags i defend the posts, this time I side with the flagger.

I explained why I think it's poorly done, because while the style used could create really neat pictures, this just feels done in 10 minutes.

However, if no one here gives a good explanation, why it should stay, why is it good, or what's the point of keeping it, then it's just lowering the chances of keeping it. I'm open to change my mind about this one.

And I do not feel entitled to anything, this place has kinda loose rules that people tend to walk around and push the boundaries with the popularity of the content rather than with pure quality control.
I would just like the standards to not be biased towards anything, and have decent images all around. There are better quality pictures that don't get past filter because they do not have "touhou" attached to it.

There are also good Touhou images that don't get approved. While I would agree that there are problems with the upload/approval system they should be brought up on the forums rather than in the comments section of images that have been arbitrarily flagged.

As for the image itself: I like the use of color on this piece, being a bit of a sucker for black, white and X images. While they're no feat of technical brilliance, the wings' erased lines create an interesting looking visual effect. It is, at least for me, pleasing to look at and should, in my opinion, retain its approval.

Well, it's handled by a small amount of people the whole system, so its bound to have holes, and be unfair, since the ones deciding do like or dislike things, and are pressured by the people who visit the site, that is something it could be worked on.
I had to request someone to check 2 good pictures I uploaded because they had fallen behind and he did, and approved, so some getting buried also happens.

I still feel however there is a bit of a happy trigger on the approval, with over a million pictures here, makes you wonder how many have just sit there, and been seen by 2-3 people only. Touhou okay quality drawing nº 347834 or whatever, might just get buried with the rest.
So personally I don't upload too many, just try to stick what I think it has effort and quality put into it.

Towards the image I did say It does feel it should be worked more on for at least my own standards, which might not be danbooru's ones. That's why I'm supporting the Janitor pretty much, I see why this one in particular gives an Issue.
Too bad I can't draw, because I thought how this picture would look great.

Anyways, let's just stop nonstop talking and we should instead, just go to the forum section, and post about quality, standards and impartiality regardless of taste towards approvals. And request a more solid explanation of the standards expected from the uploads.
