It never existed. Zun doesn't have total creative control over the print works, they're collaborations done for fun(and a little profit). As such, a lot of concepts such as that out of place "pool ending" were thrown in by Zun's collaboration partner and can't really be seen as valid to the source material. They're basically all sanctioned fanworks and about as relevant to the series as seihou or the PC-98 games.
...or maybe having a giant pool of water in a library that already has mold issues wasn't the best idea and they got rid of it.
