That indeed seems to be often the case with his/her artwork. It almost feels like the eyes are being copy-pasted from a folder or something. Same thing about the mouth.

Although the style is pretty unique on its own. Quite immediately recognizable from the thumbnail.

Sometimes the eye placement thing isn't worth uploading when it comes to Aoshima. (And for the record I learned my lesson last time I upload Ichirin)

I've been a fan of Aoshima's work for a long time and I have to say, I actually like alot of his older "Sketchy"(in his own words) alot more. But he wanted to move away from more generic design. I do have to admit, his style has come unto it's own so you can immediatly notice it from the thumbnail. But I feel he's trying too hard now.

I also hate how he moved to using bubble font, I hate bubble font in any language.

About his issue with eyes, now I am not exactly an artist but judging from the older pages and his work. For example post #703220 and post #616089 he tries to make the character 'look down' by placing the eyes/mouth lower instead of adjusting the head along as well which gives the horrible impression of misplacement. But in post #704144 and post #618894 it is done better. So it really seems the author is just swaying around with his good and bad ones.

I agree. These faces are the kind you would see in the "quality anime" section of Knowyourmeme. He/she seems to have a problem with quality control.

I know I'm late to the party, but it's not just the faces that need fixing. I've seen this pigeon-toed standing position on other aoshima pics, and sometimes it looks like one or both ankles are bent at too sharp an angle (in this pic's case, it seems Suika's right foot has a twisted ankle).
