Perhaps when she's meditated enough, she'll realize that she can just carve out the rubber that has the date on it.

In Zen meditation some monks tend to fall asleep, so sometimes there's another monk with a stick to hit them if they do. Sometimes this stick monk is hidden to really catch them by surprise. It's good to keep the adrenaline rushing.

Yeah, but Ichirin is in a kekkafuza (full-lotus) position, which, if you're able to pull it, ends up being comfortable. Zen meditation, zazen is more commonly practiced in Seiza (sitting), which is hard and the legs tend to fall asleep... in this one, correcting the posture is critical!

At least she didn't add the year, so next year it's still usable at it's current state.
