There's a reason he's called Prince Shotoku and not Emperor Shotoku; I had to stop and re-read it for a second too. The emperor NWSiaCB is talking about is Emperor Sushun, whose wife was Mononobe no Futsuhime (Futo). Meanwhile, Tojiko no Iratsume (Tojiko), consort to Prince Shotoku (Miko), would be Futsuhime's daughter.

So that would mean Futo is Miko's mother-in-law. Have fun with the Ten Desires cast now.

You're kind a of dick. Now I'll never be able to see Futo as anything else than a mother-in-law. Even if she's younger than Toyosatomimi.
