Personally I came to hate Irisu after what she did. By tricking Oreki she shattered a fragile sense of self-worth he was starting to develop. Even if it was to help her friend, I find her actions deplorable.
Wasn't it because she didn't really care much for her friend's story to begin with but didn't want to say it sucked, so she forcefully recruited Oreki, tricked him into writing the ending, so that she would look like she helped her friend?
i can not see better solution than what irisu did in story,considering the urgency or to say pressure.
She might not had capable friends daring enough to write story in haste(why didn't she ask eba). Surely you can't expect someone like Oreki's sister to do this toil, all Irisu had was the recommendation in detective.
So irisu's duty was to convince an unfamiliar boy teenager be motivated enough to make up the story in 24 hrs, surely showing weakness and sincere request would only cause refusal, so she reasonably chose to provoke overconfidence and ambiguity.
Of course, she paid the price for getting both Oreki offended later on.
