Well....They did both fall for a person whose best technique involved cutting things with sharp objects and who despite being human and fragile were willing to go against very strong opponents who weren't even the same species as them in order to save people (both important to them and not). All the while being surrounded by beings which made them look wimpy in comparison. Also they both had a powerful item with which to heal themselves when things went bad..... and holy shit Krillin and Shirou have a lot more in common then I thought...and both ended up with extremely strong blonde haired chicks.......
