Ran, you should take cover. It helps.

Surprised I was able to get to this today; I've got a long-weekend business trip starting tomorrow, so the schedule's a bit tight right now. I might be here long enough to catch tomorrow's, but if not, I won't have time to translate more until Monday, soonest.

I wanted to try drawing Youki, since I hardly ever get a chance to do so.

I exaggerated when I drew it in the comic, but even so, she ate 2.5 people's worth of spaghetti here. That Yuyu-sama person is amazing!

Reader-added tags include "Youki Joestar", "Dignity", and "Ran: 'The results were all right.'"

The survey's still considering the menu:

What kind of spaghetti do you like?
    • Neapolitan
    • Carbonara
    • Peperoncino
    • Vongole
    • GOTO spaghetti code

Sometimes, when I'm writing in a language with methods and subroutines, I miss the humble GOTO... It's really not that bad if it's used responsibly.

    GOTO spaghetti code

...Well, WOW. I never expected to see that here.

I was thoroughly shocked recently after studying OpenSSL source code. They use goto in nearly every function. Sure, they do it for a reason, freeing every allocated variable after every possible failure is a pain, but it still was shocking after so many years of "GOTO IS EVIL, FORGET IT EVEN EXISTS".
Also, c# has goto, perl has goto, python has goto module (lol), java has goto reserved but break can provide same spaghetti code. Hail spaghetti!

Reminds me of one time at a Mexican restaurant...I'm within the bounds of what you'd call a "big eater," but not outrageously so. I like a full dinner plate. But this place serves 1.5x sized plates. Just on that day, I managed to eat around 2.5 servings. I'd say I was channeling Yuyuko if I'd discovered Touhou by that point.

As someone that eats over a pound of spaghetti on a semi-regular basis, I must bow to your determination Yuyuko. I do have to say it would be fun to try those exotic flavors of pasta.

You should try writing MS Assembler. "Jump" (or JMP) is the only command for modifying program flow, used for loops, subroutines (such that they are), and even ifs (or comparisons, rather). The main reason young programmers are taught that jumps are evil is because they're so easy to use sloppily, but there's nothing inherently wrong with them and, in fact, they underlie all other forms of flow control. (Nonetheless, there is still a part of me that gets a perverse pleasure from abusing GOTO and similar commands. I believe one Jerry Holkins once described it as "the delicious and irresistible texture of sin".)

Don't underestimate me, I wrote quite a bit of code in pure asm/TASM, and then even made some simple game (lines, IIRC) for one of term papers using winAPI calls. MASM is no fun, macros are for the weak!
But come on, even pure asm has "loop" command :3 And it's possible to make asm conditional jumps simply beautiful after putting some effort into it. But for higher-level languages, goto is... well, you know :3

You did it, Yuyuko-sama. I believed in you. Seeing her do it makes me want to try to do it, though. If she can do it, I'm sure I have a chance. I'll try anything once (or twice). Ran-san and Chen-chan are the sneaky ones, saying they are full, knowing Yuyuko-sama hates seeing leftovers, then ordering more. As cunning as a fox as always.

For the poll, I can't eat code, so I'm going to have to go with carbonara.

My apologies; I seem to have underestimated you.

We salute you, Yuyuko-sama. Now, take revenge on that meat sauce spaghetti.

For the poll, let's try something interesting. I'll take the Peperoncino.

You're supposed to avoid goto, because it doesn't tell you anything about the code structure (that was the point of "Goto Considered Harmful").

Except when it does. And that's in C code, where it's accepted that goto can be used for two cases. The first is multilevel breaks. The second is for exception/error handling like you saw in OpenSSL. In these cases, goto has meaning in C, because there isn't a better way to express it (and as long as proper flow control structures are used for all other cases, that meaning stays strong). Note that both of these jumps are always forward. It's backwards jumps that lead to true spaghetti code.

I only used goto once, I ended up in hell.

But if it's real food, carbonara is the way to go.

This wasn't about the amount of food. It was the fact that she couldn't stand the flavors to the point that they were making her gag.

Ha ha ha! It is not working because you think of it as food, Yuyuko-dono!

This meat sauce spaghetti is delicious!! Thank goodness you ordered it as a palate cleanser!!
    Homph Chomp
Hold it a sec, you two...

There's no way I can do thaaat!!
Goodness, what is the matter, Yuyuko-dono?

Youki...it seems I'm going to lose to food...
    Grind...
Think of it the other way around: "This is not food, so it is all right to leave some." A parody of George Joestar's quote.
