Everyone's got their own opinion of course. I actually preferred the lighter feel and story of Skyward Sword over Twilight Princess.

inb4 the new design is based upon Twilight Princess, but is actually what'll be used for the new HD Zelda.

Skyward Sword definitely wasn't my favorite, but I much preferred its gameplay over TP. I'm probably alone when I say that I absolutely disliked almost everything about Twilight Princess.

Actually, canonically Skyward Sword Link is a reincarnation of the original Link from the comic that came before the game.

I wouldn't be so harsh on Skyward Sword has they given the player options to turn Fi completely off during gameplay. I much prefer Midna to Fi.

Midna was indeed the best companion. However, 3D Zelda needs to do away with companions all together.

In my opinion, there's too many links... Nintendo should have just kept it to one Link through the series. Not a zillion rehashes.

The new smash bros Link isn't TP Link, like, at all. Looks more like a new Link.

In all likelihood this is the Link for the coming WiiU game, which is going to run on an updated version of Twilight Princess's graphics engine. Skyward Sword was more or less an update to Wind Waker's cel-shaded graphics but with less cartoon-ness.

As for Link's gear in Smash 4, I'm expecting Skyward Sword weapons. They tend to use the most recent loadout.

I believe they said they rather liked the SS style, so the new game would use something similar... but I hope they won't because I couldn't get over the faces looking weird in some way I couldn't put my finger on.

It's more like a combination of TP and SS Link, but people are saying that he looks more like the former.

The mouths were what bothered me. They didn't look right. And sometimes Link looked like he was wearing eyeliner.
