Old-school Gundam is about awesome giant robots contrasted with the brutal horror of war. Nothing wrong with pantyshots, and there's no reason you can't have them in Gundam, but they aren't what Gundam is about. Now get off my lawn.

Quite a few people to be honest. Not really the best plot in the world, pacing is off, some of the characters are completely one dimensional and frankly there is a thinly veiled excuses for some of the dynamics of the show.
And yes, Luna being Luna-the-fan-service doesn't change any of that.

I felt that the CE series gave the viewer a better depiction of the horrors of war than most UC Gundam. The Minerva never has to scour the ocean for salt and Heliopolis is never attacked by a lone man armed with nothing but a chicken wing and a vendetta.
