I think he's gonna be in for a surprise when Reimu shows off her "Float above all reality"-style invulnerability. And barriers. And lasers. And maybe calling in a favor from her numerous friends, each with creatively destructive powers.
WoW really? I always thought it was stage level = power with exception being Reimu, Marisa and Yukari.
HARDLY. Alot of the character's don't bother fighting at full strength and remember that Danmaku rules is there for a reason, to try and equalize the fights. Alice doesn't try for her fights, Komachi doesn't try as well as many others. Cirno legitimately beat Marisa in a Danmaku fight because Marisa wasn't serious for the first half and even after Marisa thought "Oh shit, I need to start taking this seriously" it was already too late.
Any "Stage" power and Danmaku levels is null and void, and this goes for all characters, not just main characters.

Also the danmaku rules are there so no actual deaths occur. It was put in place since Reimu is the last Hakurei currently. Aya does think that the Hakurei shrine maiden is replaceable but that may not be the case. If any of the sage youkai actually did anything at full power then Gensokyo would suffer as a whole. The danmaku rules really do promote "youkai extermination" even though it was thought up by a youkai.
