If wood types are mixed, they lose value in recycling so they can only be used as filler. Like being shredded and chipped to make turf for athletic fields from mixed wood.

    LOL that made my day.

What the hell are these? Are they hand-made and they are there for sale or what?

Guys, I don't think the boat one is the only one worthy of attention...

Is that komachi at 4th from the right at the bottom line...
Not sure though, so might leave the tag for now.

That would be Natsumi Kimiyoshi. She never appeared in the Higurashi anime though.

Ah, I was standing behind the camera when this was taken, on a visit to Shirakawa-go in September 2007. (Unless it's a very similar photo taken by someone who went after and I can't tell the difference. I recognise all of these ema though.)

See that ema 2 to the right of the Nice Boat one? Kinda washed out in the photo? That's the one we left. It's hard to read, but it says (in English) "YOU GONNA GET TAKEN HOME" with a picture of Rena in the middle.

Shirakawa-go is the real village that Hinamizawa was based on, thus many Higurashi fans have made pilgrimages to the shrine there.
