Somehow, I like this version of the admiral. Friendly(Man's Best Friend), polite, not a pervert as most fanartists portray the admiral, and the girls love him cause he's like a household pet they can cuddle(unless one of them's allergic). Except maybe Akebono.

Agreed. Guy admirals are either perverts or denser than Osmium. Both of those are getting a little old.

I must be reading the wrong(or right) Kancolle doujins then. Most of the ones I read (like 90%) has the Admiral in an actual steady relationship with one of the girls. So it's mostly wholesome romantic comedy stuff.

True, in the defense of other admiral protrayals. They are portrayed as decent guys that is quite loyal and loving to the girl he is paired to.

I kind of miss the days when getting the heavy cruisers and battleships with built-in pairings was something you could look forward to.
